Whispers

Whispers

A Poem by Chantee
"

This poem is about trying not to let what people say get to you.

"

I hear what you say

It goes right through me, hard to ignore

drains into my soul,

ripping apart my shield.

Forming thoughts of their own;

your words cut through me.

Like a blade through a piece of raw food,

discarded like me.

Trying to block you out,

those words just bulldoze through.

Doing as much damage as possible.

You only whisper them,

but they scream through my ears

to my brain

into my being.

Slowly tearing me apart,

I will soon become a distant memory;

a whisper to your thoughts.

Aw. I get it. Well, it depends on how the reader understands this because it can have a lot of meanings. It's wonderful, though. Keep it up :)
