The Well

The Well

A Poem by SilentScreaming
"

Yup..

"

Your fingernails dig into the hard bricks

Your knees scrape as you climb up, peering into the darkness below

Your eyes squeeze shut as your drop foward

The feeling of falling overwhelms you

Your eyes flash infront of your eyes

Death stares you in the eyes, tempting to take you away from all you love

Your choice

Piercing Screeching

Your body hits the dark water, you gasp one of your last breaths

You slowly bob in the smothering water, your eyes squeezing shut

Struggle

You try to grip the bricked walls

You fail

Your hands slip and you start to choke on the sour water

You begin to sink, water filling your body, drowning you

Satisfactory

Your body goes numb, your mind fades slowly

You continue to sink, deeper and deeper into the water

The last thing you see is the dark figure of the curious human, peering into the well

Your last vision

But It's too late

Your life, your humane, slowly slips away.

Whoa, this is very powerful, I truly enjoyed it. Each moment, each emotion is so devouring, and it gave me the chills haha. You have done a great job of writing such a great description of this fall, it's amazing how my mind is still stuck thinking about the poem. Great job :)

A poem of fear and mystery. A lot of hidden story in the poem. This could be a good scary story. I like the way you described the slow and painful death. Drowning is not a good way to died. I like the ending to the outstanding poem.
