Broken Glass

Broken Glass

A Poem by Beautiful Mistake

You stole, crushed, and destroyed

You disrespected, bruised, and battered

Who I am, who I was, and my very soul

Leaving me as nothing more then broken glass

Shattered in pieces and sharp to the touch

Nothing more than a eye sore

Waiting to be picked up only to be thrown away

Just as quickly forgotten as broken and disposed

No one ever knowing what those shards use to be

Easily replaced but impossible to fix without seeing the cracks

I've been shattered, replaced, and thrown away

Never to be fixed and see my cracks

i am forever broken glass
