Your "Doll"

Your "Doll"

A Poem by Beautiful Mistake

Bonded by the light and shielded from the dark

Never feeling but ever seeing the pain of life

Raised to be dressed in the fine silks of luck

Born to look down the bridge of my nose at misfortune

Taught to smile and sit passed like a little doll

But that's not what I am at all

I am a robot to your lessons and a slave to the lies

I have no power over the empty shell that is me

My voice left long ago like the winter snow in the spring

You may be you but what am I

All the nights I've tried to cry with dry eyes

With fist clenched and raised to the sky

I curse the day I became your "Doll"
