Out in the Cold

This started out as a unfinished son that turned into a poem

You left me here out in the cold

The words you say cut to the bone

The holes you left let the wind blow through my heart

My eyes are cold and blank Windows

That lock away my dark crumbling mind

Such loving and fuzzy words now chill my soul

When saying I love you turns me to stone

Our relationship was doomed from the start

You pulled all the strings that broke my heart

You never really loved me I was just a toy to pass your time

Since day one I fell for every line

I set myself up and wasted my own time

Blinded in my chase for heartbreak thinking it was love

I've become comfortable in my new home

Where you left me here out in the cold
