Life Lifted to Wings

Life Lifted to Wings

A Poem by Madeline

Life will be given,

And taken away.

When which will be which never can we say.

No matter how it comes, both are selfsame.

First comes life full of joy,

Oft accompanied by pain.

Then Death kisses the lungs,

Life is lifted to wings.

When the heart succumbs to silence,

It's gained even silent birds sing.
