Plastic Shells

Plastic Shells

A Poem by SilentEcho
"

I love my best friend, but I never got the chance to fall in love.

"
We are both real things
Tucked inside plastic shells
Side by side, I love how it tastes
But you can’t stand the smell.

We were born in the Fall
But in Winter you fell
Side by side, I waited for Summer
But I denied it and swore I’d never tell.

I’d like to love you
But you never gave me the chance
I’d Ike to love you
But we died before we learned how to dance.

I’d like to love you
But you missed when we jumped for the stars
I’d like to love you
But you didn’t like the idea of chasing cars.

Now we wear masks when we talk
Cause we can’t show our faces
Side by side, friendly strangers
Only meeting in crowded places.

We are both real things
And we love our plastic shells
Side by side, I can’t remember the taste
And you do your best to ignore the smell.

Nice poem. Like the bit friendly strangers only meeting in crowded places. I have had experiences I can relate to here.
