Beautiful

Beautiful

A Poem by Lakisha David

Black is

So beautiful to me.

Mocha colored skin.

Like chocolate,

Like honey,

Like a cast iron skillet.

Beautiful.

Judging from your photo, there is no doubt that you are a beautiful young lady, and your skin is mocha. Since I am a mixture of white, black, and American Indian, I try to see beauty in everyone. I like the cast iron skillet. It takes time to break one in and get that nice, black coating on it that cooks your food so good. And chocolate--well, everyone loves chocolate! Yes, Black is beautiful.

I like the similes here, and you certainly are beautiful, as any color can be. A nice, succinct short. Thank you for sharing.

I see black as beautiful. I really feel people themselves are afraid of change. I embrace it! I liked the way you made it into things of desire and love.

Beauty truely is in the eye of the beholder.
