A Beautiful Pause

Expectations nearly darkened her outlook. Determined to push the whispers of others behind her, she intently wraps herself in the color of silence. The fabric is long and  flowing, white and weightless…

A soft breeze skims the surface of the water and offers a kiss as she releases the gentle hold her teeth had on her bottom lip. She steps in and sways as she walks, water pushing against and around her ankles, calves and thighs. As the water rises above her torso, the now sheer material swirls around her and balloons as the water reaches her breasts.

With a smile she closes her eyes, lifts one leg and both arms from her sides. She lets her head fall back as if searching for a pillow and, pushing off on the lake’s floor, allows her other leg to spring to the surface.

“The road to darkness has a way of always knowing my name…”

Here, though, the sound is lost in a beautiful pause.

I Love this piece Zsanece...I could get lost in your words, so artistic, yet so free. Lovely.

You took me there for that moment and left me floating on my back with a smile on my face. Nice job! Sharon
