before silence

found innocence and was
captivated by its simplicity
and tender moments... (like

the tucking of a lock of hair behind
an ear
) … oh, there were dreams
...giving way to tears and

cheeks left wet, eyes swollen
by regret…dabbed often with
a borrowed towel soaked with

sorrow and salt. But then came
a breeze, a shower of pink
cherry blossoms… and silence.
