Dampened Promises

Dampened Promises

A Poem by SilentDream
"

shared for the Well, That's Depressing contest

"

With ink my heart's been coated
And swirls with the gutter's debris
Like your crumbled words, discarded
Dampened promises given to me

The pages slip out of my hands
Into the muck and into the night
Smearing the curves of slick words
Darkened promises dampen my sight
