In want of song

In want of song

A Poem by SilentDream

Of whispered word I dare not say

To fill a pause, this halted day

A dawning drifts ‘pon misted wrong

This songbird sighs in want of song

In sweetness I deny, there’s none

For wanton verse that touches one

If silence be my penance, new

So come what may for paining you

A very sweet poem and nice imagery. I have a question the last two lines I had trouble with. you have new, did you mean now? paining did you mean painting? I just got up so even thought my eyes are open I may still be asleep. Tony

It takes great skill to be able to conform to a solid rhyme scheme and still layer your poetry with meaning, and you pull it off quite nicely. Once again I'm floored by your use of imagery and soft philosophy. Incredible.

I really enjoyed this... so simple in word yet so powerful in emotion, quite beautiful i thought.

The beauty of this is hard to put into words.

Your pure love shines trough regret, in the last verse.

You have a beautiful way with words.. this writing painted an image lovingly sincere in meter
what I see this writing as.. is a painting of scenery with word..an environment of emotions dawning..

overshadowing the reader.. like the golden before autumn days..to be a sping bird desiring
to sing.. like a writer seeking inspiration.. I enjoyed the way you left the specific meaning open

to interpretation-strikes me as sweet and romantic in an embracing the day way of wanting
