A Poem by SilentDream
"

Written for a challenge. Ten words given. Use at least five. CASCADE ENCOMPASS LULLABY SONOROUS TALISMAN COARSE SHUN CACOPHONY MALADROIT GROTESQUE

"

I stumbled headlong into a restless dream

No lullaby to encompass nor precede me
No talisman prevented my fall

I appeared in a dank, grotesque alleyway
The ground littered with debris, coarse and gray
And an undulating, crumbling brick wall

From too near, a figure spoke from the shadows
So sonorous, “Where else can you go?”
By your side fear couldn’t enthrall

Furious, he lurched as he came for me
A cascade of curses, a cacophony
A maladroit try, though his all

Though sluggish, I did shun the darkness
And I woke, both aware and breathless
I was certain that you heard my call
