Setting You Free

Setting You Free

A Poem by Silent Angel

They say if you love something

Set it free

But what if you leaving

Was meant to be?

What if you leave

And never come back?

Because if you don’t return

I’d be a sad sack

I want to let you go

And let you have a life

But you leaving me would hurt so bad

Like a long stabbing knife

I know you need your space and time

So I guess I’ll let you go

But just promise me you’ll come back

And that you love me so

My fear of losing you

Has grown too deep

And out of my lonely eyes

These tears begin to seep

I look away and hide myself

Not wanting you to see

That I am absolutely horrified to know

That maybe we’re not meant to be

So run away but please come back

My heart will wait for you

Oh, and before you go, one last thing

Honey, I love you too
