Silent Angels Whisper * Part IV: Razbitye serdtsa suhie (Broken Hearts are Dry) - Chapter 14A Chapter by Silent AngelAs I carried Zori on my hip through the halls all I could think about was Lune, and how close we had come to a kiss. I knew it was stupid to think about, especially since Zori and I were lurking through a very full science lab, but I couldn’t help it. We came down a hallway and suddenly the exit door was right in front of us, so easy to slip out of. I slowly opened it and found the outside was truly behind it, with a bright moon in the sky. “Okay, I want you to run up that hill and hide behind those trees until Lune or I come out. If Lune comes out alone, flag him down. Keep quiet and don’t do anything to attract attention to yourself. Stay safe.” I whispered to Zori For once Zori didn’t say anything, she just ran out the door silently, following my instruction. I figured since I had been able to get Zori so quickly I had time to find Shavi or Tod and somehow manage to get them out too. I began slipping through empty hallways again, peeking into rooms, trying to find anyone I knew. The science lab was filled with scientists, but there were no actually experiments, besides us. It was like we were so important they called every mad scientist in the nation down for us. Oh joy, just what we need, another party. I thought to myself as I peeked into open doors. “Still crawling around I see.” a voice whispered from behind me. The blood in my body froze and I’m sure my heart stopped pumping for a second, but I managed to turn around, only to see Lune behind me, smiling. I smiled and nodded at him, suddenly terrified to be with him in a science lab. My memories flooded back to when we first met, him standing there in the moonlight, talking to me as if we had known each other for our whole lives. Maybe……maybe we had. I suddenly thought, my heart beating harder at this new theory. “Did you get Zori?” Lune whispered after a second. “Yeah, she’s safe.” I whispered back, no even bothering to explain. “Alright, well I’m heading that way. See you in forty-five minutes.” he whispered, heading down an empty hall. I nodded and kept walking the way I was going, my thoughts racing in my head. Just hours ago he had comforted me when I was on the verge of insanity. But while doing it he had whispered something. It had been so unclear at that moment, but suddenly it came rushing back. ‘Shhh, Angel, I’ll never let you go.’ The voice played in my head again, but this time it was Lune’s voice, whispering in my mind. My heart beat harder and harder as everything flashed before me. There was more to all of us than what I had originally thought. We were closer than we should have been after only knowing each other for a year. There was something more, something that helped pain the big picture, but I had no idea what it was. Just as I made in front of a room, with the familiar face of Tod, looking horrified as he stared back at me. I only had a second to realize he was looking at what was behind me before something hit my head hard and I blanked out. ‘5 to 7.’ © 2011 Silent Angel |
