Silent Angels Whisper * Part II: Smotri Na Menya (See me) - Chapter 4

A Chapter by Silent Angel

“If I had a dime for every single time I heard someone say that they’re hungry I would be an octillion-air!” Tod exclaimed as we walked toward a large hotel somewhere in New York.

“Tod, I’m hungry too.” Shavi stated as she looked at the cars passing by.

“I swear, if another person tells me they’re hungry I will personally get some food and shove it ".”

“Okay! Wow, looks like that’s the hotel we’ll be staying at!” I interrupted, giving Tod ‘the look’

He just smirked at me and opened the door to the hotel. With Shavi on my hip I entered, looking around at the fancy red wall-paper with golden curly cues on then and the velvet carpet. The lady at the front desk had on a painted smile with the perfect amount of make-up. She was wearing a dark blue suit with her dark brown hair whipped up into a very organized bun.

“Hello, welcome to Millenium Hilton New York City Hotel, How may I help you?” the front desk lady asked in her fake friendly voice when Tod walked up.

“Hi, we would like two hotel rooms please.” Tod stated, trying to match her sweet tone.

“Do you have a reservation?” she asked, still smiling

“Umm, no, we weren’t able to call so -.” Tod began

“Then I’m sorry, we will not be allowed to permit you a room. Please make a reservation and come back tomorrow.” the lady interrupted.

Tod just stared at her for a second before it actually registered in his mind. His whole demeanor suddenly turned cold and dark as his fists clenched. I could see trouble was coming so I quickly put down Shavi and walked in front of him, ready to take control of the conversation.

“Listen, we didn’t make a reservation but I believe our parents did. Umm, do you have anything under ‘Smith’?” I asked, thinking of a quick lie.

“Liars go to hell.” Zori whispered to me, staring at me

“Yeah, but unfortunately the devil has a restraining order against me, so I can’t go.” I whispered back, matching her creepy-ness

“I’m sorry, there is no reservation under the name ‘Smith.’” the stupid lady informed me, still smiling.

“Damn, I guess our parent’s forgot to make the call! Do you think, by any chance, you could make an exception? We’ve been walking all day and the kids here are really tired.” I explained, with at least half of it true.

“I’m sorry, but there are no exceptions at the Millenium Hilton New York City Hotel ma’am.” the lady stated

I froze as anger overwhelmed me. I knew how to control my anger, and I knew it was fore the better so that I didn’t totally loose myself. But, she had crossed the line. I reached over the counter and grabbed her perfect collar. Squishing it inside of my fist I yanked her perfect little face close to mine.

“Listen b***h, it’s been a long day. We’ve have gone through things you couldn’t even imagine. So get me a damn room or there will be hell to pay!” I sneered into her stupid face.

“Ma’am, I’m going to have to call security now.” she responded after swallowing hard and pulling her eyes back to normal size.

That was when I lost it. I through myself on top of her over the counter and landed on top of her, pulling a fist up and getting ready to punch her perfect face and smash it into a million pieces.

‘Shhh, Angel, I’ll never let you go.’ a familiar voice played in my mind right as I was about to punch.

I sighed, pulled myself off of her and walked away, leaving the perfect lady behind. There was no way I would loose myself over her. I had bigger things to worry about. Like that voice that kept playing over and over in my mind that always brought me back to reality.

‘Shhh, Angel, I’ll never let you go.’
