Fear

Fear

A Poem by SilenceSounds

The low creaking of a chair, echoing through the night.

The cackling from her mouth, the wind throughout her hair.

She clenches her hands in fists, and laughs manically.

The blood slowly trails down her hands and she turns suddenly to look at you.

Her eyes are black.

And her mouth is wide,

And smiling.

Her fingers just like claws.

You are scared now, and don’t know what to do.

And you don’t know how to feel about all she says to you.

About darkly bright hallways,

And hectic, painful peace.

Will you listen to her as she glares happily into you?

Will you heed her warning about entering her deserted home?

She tells you not to enter, but somehow you surely do.

Your feet move as if insane,

And now there is no cure.

You’re stuck inside her happy place.

And it is filled with blood and gore.

The walls all bright with blood,

And the floors are clean no more.

“Don’t be afraid of it,”

She whispers in your ear.

You jump back and make a noise,

Obviously you are.

“You’re stuck with me internally,

Your sadness and your fear.”

But you have to do this somehow,

Overcome this crippling feeling.

But how?

And why?

There’s got to be a way

To get away from all your fears,

And maybe not just one.
