Battlefield of Etheya

Battlefield of Etheya

A Story by Silmara McGarry

Battlefield of Etheya

Marching not forward but to the left, no crown on her head so they did not recognize her.
Spread the silver Knights over the Cheteern hills, and the red ones, around the battlefield.
Followed were Tharry behind her firm steps throughout the corridors of the palace in a black hood, she must hide.
We heard her rapidly pounding heart in devoted courage, gathering strength from past battles.... breathing not too deep so the pain of the wounds were not awaken, they must be maintained in silence.
Showing no fear in her eyes, glancing fiercely at the soldiers, like her father taught her.
The General shouted: the Queen is now on the battlefield, lower your arrows, she needs disguising no more!
Drums of the east resonating in her ears on each galloping of her horse Treesus.
Her sword shinning as her armour.
He finally sees her, but her scent troubles him, totally impregnated in his most deep memories, so he asks his Knights to surround her, she looks at him in absolute shock, in her eyes disappointment of betrayal.
The general shouts once more: fight for her majesty the Queen, but it is ohhh too late, his sword is sharply stabbed high in her heart, hence the Queen died that day.
Sorrow fell upon him, as through out the entire kingdom, even the ethereal birds cried in silence and from that moment on they sang no more.

Your poem is a powerful work of art that resonates with the reader long after they have finished reading it. The imagery you use is both vivid and haunting, painting a picture of a fierce and courageous queen who is willing to fight for what she believes in. The way you write about her emotions and her inner strength is particularly moving, and the ending is a tragic twist that adds an extra layer of depth to the poem. The way you describe the aftermath of the queen's death is touching and poignant, and it leaves the reader with a profound sense of sorrow and loss. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your poem and was left feeling deeply moved by the emotions it evokes. Keep up the great work!

Was my pleasure and you are welcome my dear friend.
Beautifully narrated dear Sil. The Warrior Queen goes into battle, her armour emblazoned. Wonderful imagery and build up of tension to the tragic ending. You capture the emotions perfectly here of betrayal and sadness as the brave Queen meets a shock ending. A lovely piece. Enjoyed the read. Good to see you here. 🌺
