Glass Rainbow

Glass Rainbow

A Poem by Silmara McGarry

Indescribably

I see you there luring me,

with your strikingly brilliant colours,

murmuring that I am the glow in your eyes,

when you look at me.

I can strongly feel your heart

beating in mine,

equal to an impressive swan dance ~

dazzlingly staged.

Tell me,

how can I cross those mountains

to kiss your eyelids,

to feel your woodsy scent

perfuming our love once again?

Wait a minute!

Did you just kiss me?

For, my heart pounds,

and I am out of breath!

No, I am fooling myself;

it was just a note you wrote,

sending a kiss,

while fiercely asking,

"Why can’t I be with you,

when I love you so much?"

Again and again…

I have been enchanted,

frequently reflective of when

will I be in your arms ~ afresh.

In droops,

madness and anger are jointly

taking over my mind,

since they have not  permitted

you to be with me.

While your heart howls

with pain and loneliness,

I remain myself,

but changed…

desolated without you.

Sadly,

I realize now,

you are still there…

beyond the glass rainbow.

Wow,, I saw someone had reviewed this on the feed and thought I would pop in and check it out and I am so glad I did. This is amazing. I could feel this deeply as I have faced something similar in my past. This poem instantly brought me back to a time when all that mattered was finding a way to be in that person' arms. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I love the symbolism and enhanced feeling you use. I also love the way you used personification to make the heart howl and call out.
Keep writing,

Hi, Silmara,
I know you do not yet know me … my name is Richard, and having seen your unique name on the poet's list, I was naturally lured to your profile.
The title of this particular composition, along with its gloriously colorful picture, caught my eye and drew me in.
How happy I am all that took place, as few poems pull my senses into the nuances of their moment the way this wonderfully rendered prose piece has.
And, though your story is an old one, having been shared and related-to by many; yet, not in such a unique way as your loving words to your wayward soul-mate have here.
Your words, though simple and succinct, are far from lacking intricate emotion, filled with endearing touches and caresses of a lonely woman's passionate yearnings, tugging at the heart in ways a lesser skilled poetess' ability to paint words into vivid pictures -- ever could.
By virtue of your knowing syntax, bright poetical voice, and smoothness of flow, it is easy to determine this is not your first poetical rodeo.
There are a few easily addressed issues that jumped to my practiced eye you might wish to address, in order to make this beautiful work the truly polished masterpiece it deserves to be (if interested, let me know).
In-any-event, you've made me a believer and a fan of yours. : )

I dearly and sincerely love this piece, Silmara … most gratefully yours! ⁓ Richard 🍃

I have asked the similar questions often below.
"Tell me, how can I cross this mountains? To kiss your eyelid, to feel your woodsy scent, perfuming our love once again?"
To seek second chance and find place of once true love. Thank you Silmara for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome dear friend.
What a touching dedication to being apart from the ones we love. We treasure moments of memory; sights and sounds that remind us of our love. There is, I believe, a feeling that we are incomplete without those persons who make our lives worthwhile; those who share in our joys and sadness, our triumphs and challenges as if they were their own. Luckily, it is only a small and transient part of the bittersweet condition called love.

I'm sure it can be frustrating to be away for what seems like an eternity. That warmth and tenderness floats on the mind every now and then even in the most busy times. Then, when you're back in their arms, all you want to do is hold them tight.

This an imaginative piece.

Well done Sil. :-)

I feel an immigrant's longing for his or her country, the bonds that are still solid and the memories that are still fresh. This is very touching.

:-) Thank you indeed for your touching review, dear friend.
This is brilliant & full of imagery for all the senses & best of all, it's highly original, like nothing I've ever read before. When I saw your list of postings, many of which are about "love" . . . I wondered if they might tend to sound like the other million love poems that many poets post here. I'm delighted to see the high level of fresh original sensations & observations you pack in to your message. Thank you for reviewing me, so I could find you & your work! Fondly, Margie
