Luck

She’s drop dead gorgeous and

The most intelligent girl I know.

I can honestly say I’ve loved her,

Though her love I may never know.

Heh, I rhymed.

 

See,

She has in her eyes this wisdom,

This understanding of more than she sees

And it often coincides with things

Involving me.

She knows thoughts I don’t express

And feelings I don’t emit.

And can read my face even when

I think I’m acting pretty well.

 

But she’s not in to me.

Just friends, and all.

Which is cool, I really

Do value friendship.

 

But guys take her for granted.

And it always hurts me to see her

Hurting

Unraveling.

Strung out and

Abused.

 

I want her.

To smile at me.

To laugh at my jokes.

To hold me and

Conversely I want

To comfort her

And take her to places she

Has never known.

 

I want

To lie with her

Under the quilt and

Work her body ‘til she’s overcome with

Ecstasy

Well deserved. 

 

But hell there’s a chance

That I’ll hurt her just like all the others

Except for her that would be worse since

I would have known what she was looking for.
