Never A Last

Never A Last

A Poem by Alicia™
"

This way, I'll always have you, and you'll always have a piece of my heart…

"
Maybe it wasn’t meant to be written;
My last poem for you.
It will hurt too much
To be afraid to speak to you;
Scared that I will have to stop my words,
And resist writing another poem.

I was going to tell you how I had loved you;
How my heart ached when you hurt me,
And how well I have moved on,
But maybe it’s for the best that I don’t.

This way, I’ll always have you,
And you’ll always have a piece of my heart
That’s been broken and mended; tiny in size,
But nevertheless yours to keep.

Yes, I have moved on,
But this doesn’t mean I have to say goodbye.
I’ll always love you somehow,
Just in a different part of my heart.

It’s better for us all this way;
My poems to you never a last.
Maybe I’m just selfish, holding on to you,
But my last poem for you wasn’t meant to be written,
And besides, you’ll never know that I’m writing for you…

This was written around the time I was having muse trouble, and it's a poem about contemplating writing yet another poem, along with some other things as well. This one is another that's very special to me.

I think the poem is amazing. I, personally, believe that moving on doesn't mean you stop loving someone. They always have a piece of your heart and it's not easy everytime.
'Yes, I have moved on,
But this doesn’t mean I have to say goodbye.'
I can relate to these lines.
Beautiful poem. :)

Amazing! The words flowed together really well and I could totally relate to your poem. Writer's block always sucks and I'm sure we could all understand how you were feeling when you wrote this poem.

That was sad. Somehow, it still conveyed longing for what was lost. There was holding on to memories. Beautifully written.

This is a hurting poem, a crying poem, a poem smeared with a hearts blood dripping from it, pooling on the floor mingling with tears...........this is from a heart broken, and still longing for that which is now lost

beautiful in it's grief and sadness

I adore this poem. I like it how you describe you still loved that person so much. Although the time continue, but the love that you have for that person never stop. Beautiful poem.

I wrote something like this a while back but decided not to post it on WC. The poem was... not too personal but the words hurt too much to read. I think posting a poem about moving on is a great step towards towards that.

Your poetry is amazing! You have captured the esscence of love in it's purest form. Your flow and rhythm in your poetry is quite remarkable, and you have knitted a tapestry for the heart... I am definately placing this in my favorites and this is a wonderful piece.
