I'll Admit It

I’ll admit it;

I miss you.

The way you used to tell me

That I was gorgeous;

Gorgeous and yours.

Those days have passed,

Long taken away by the wind,

But I can’t help but to cherish

Each and every memory,

And sigh in delight that we made them.

I wish I could say,

That if you told me you’d forgotten

Each and every of those memories,

I’d lock them away

In my memory box,

To rest in peace.

I wish I could tell you this;

I wish I wouldn’t have to lie about it.

This was written quite a couple of months ago… I did some heavy editing on it, but kept the structure and most of the 4th stanza.

I like the poem Alicia as I like most of your stuff. But the second last stanza in particular is confusing me, one because I think you could be missing a word and it doesn't make sense to me.
"Each and every of those memories,"
To me it seems like youre missing a word? To me it would flow better if it went "Each and every one of those memories,"

The memories are what linger, yet for a time they were true, to be loved to be held and cherished is something that cant be taken away from you, I know this feeling so well, for to me she will always be gorgeous, beautiful serene and quite simply amazing, even though in the end she chose another....well expressed poetic elegance
