Neglectful Love is a TrendA Poem by Sierra Erway
You say you love me;
empty words fall from your mouth. Meaningless. You expect me to believe it. Act upon it as though it were your first profession of love. I can't buy it anymore, can't pretend for you. Lovers ignore their needs and wants. Facebook addiction. Ever-changing relationship statuses and friend lists. Inviting in uncertainty. Unstable. Letting other people in, as if they belong in what should be a sacred space... Indecisive. Pull and push, push and pull, I love you, I'm not sure. You're the only one for me, this isn't what I want. Lovers sharing no love. Disconnected. One more desperate than the other to make it REAL. We just want to FEEL the love we deserve. Why do we put up with it? I'm not special to society, so I'm not special to you... So, why should I keep collecting and clinging to your empty words? What here is convincing my heart that this is still worth my EFFORT???
