Sad Today

The sadness hurts today...

I feel it, 

thick and heavy;

Creeping under my skin...

Digging deep into my bones..

Today, it reminds me of this aching loneliness that has made a home for itself

in the rotted, hollow holes in my heart.

Feeding on all the things I regrettably keep inside.

I am sad today.
