Say Goodbye

Say Goodbye

A Poem by Sierra Erway

How would you say goodbye?

A note?

A voice message?

Text?

Or maybe you wouldn't say goodbye at all...

But then they'd always be guessing why...

And that would amuse you because the reasons were always plain to see.

They just didn't care enough.

Didn't pay enough attention.

It's how it's always been.

And it'll never change...

But it doesn't matter to you anymore

because you're gone.

Now, in what sense are you gone?

Are you just a zombie, trapped in your life of hell?

Or are you dead?

Maybe you just disappeared, leaving no trace...

Not wanting to be found...

But in any sense, does goodbye even matter?

That's up to you.

But no matter what, and no matter how you put it,

they will never understand...

So answer my question-

How would you say goodbye?
