Only Words

Only Words

A Poem by Sierra Erway

If there was just one thing

in this world that I could do,

I'd take all the words I knew

and give them all to you.

Put them into sentences,

essays, poems or rhymes,

And everytime you hear my words

I want you to close your eyes.

Imagine the pictures my words will try to paint;

Some will be of happiness, some will be of pain,

Some will be of love, some will be of hate.

But no matter what the picture contains,

my love for you will always remain.

All the words I ever knew,

I now give them all to you.

Hold them close,

within your heart

as my silenced soul

Departs.

I can see the flood of emotions in your words as well as the dam which tries to control your passion. Open wide the flood gates and release your inner self, that will be a mighty read.
