Your Winter, My Life

Your Winter, My Life

A Poem by Sierra Erway

I am fading,

and floating by...

Like the gentle snow falling down...

No sound to interupt you,

No colours to distract you,

No voice to call for you

as you turn and walk away...

Just fading and floating by

In a life as still as the already fallen snow...

Lying around, frozen.

Stepped on and forgotten.

A sharp, frozen, numbed heart

stuck inside each snowflake.

Every broken piece of me.

A flow that stopped long ago-

encasing molecules

only to have them melt away

and once again

mean nothing.

I am fading

and floating by...

Trying to survive.

But you keep on with throwing your salt

to make me disappear.

Soon enough, the time will come...

When your sun will shine

And I'll make you smile again

by melting away...

But, always, will I return...
