Always HER

Always HER

A Poem by Sierra Erway

Everytime I come around,

your smile turns into a frown.

But when she comes, you smile again,

and I fade into the background.

Everyime I try to talk to you,

you get quiet and turn away.

But when she says anything at all,

you're outgoing and talking and even laughing.

Everytime I try to touch you,

you wince and scowl and turn away.

But whenever she goes and touches your hand,

you pull her closer and even embrace her.

I try to look you in the eye,

but you walk away - and then I cry.

But when she comes along, not even looking,

you catch her eye and you both keep staring.

I tried to offer you my heart,

but you slapped it away and broke it apart.

She offers you more, and you take it all.

Just wait until she takes it back and lets you fall...

Obviously, to you, she's better than me,

so why can't you just let me leave... permanently...
