While Dying...

While Dying...

A Poem by Sierra Erway

What is death like?

You can ask me.

I can tell you.

It's nothing special, really.

First, you feel a sense of everything going numb.

Then cold.

And everything in your body goes slower.

Then your heart stops beating,

your blood stops flowing.

Everything inside you stops.

It goes dark.

There is nothing.

All energy escapes through your pores.

You're still.

Not moving.

Someone will find you soon...

but not soon enough to save you.

And you can't call for help,

because you're dead.

YOU'RE DEAD.
