Breathe You In

Breathe You In

A Poem by Sierra Erway

I breathe you in,

like a long drag off a cigarette.

I inhale.

Your beautiful smile,

Your warm laugh,

Your shining, mysterious eyes.

You taste so sweet

floating across my tongue.

I feel your happiness,

plaguing my lungs.

I exhale.

And in a puff of smoke

I see it all come out.

All your anger,

pain,

loneliness;

the evil you hold inside.

But I am here with you.

And as we stand

so far apart;

I breathe you in.

This is so wonderfully descriptive and full of amazingly colorful analogies that just make you feel as if you experience the poem through your senses.
