Screaming Stream

Screaming Stream

A Poem by Sierra Erway

There's a stream outside your window,

it's made of all your tears.

From the nights you cry yourself to sleep;

They've added up over the years.

Poor little girl,

Poor little boy,

They've robbed and drained you of happiness and joy.

The light in your eyes shines no more.

Your sadness shows,

And I see it grow-

with each tear that adds to the stream.

I want to help you let it out,

I want to hear you scream.

Scream the sadness out of your heart.

Let it drop to the floor.

Feel relief wash over you.

Breathe the new air,

one breath at a time.

Breathe in a new you.

There's a stream outside your window,

it's made of all your tears.

The stream has ceased

Because of your scream;

That everyone now hears.
