Kiss Me Goodbye

Kiss Me Goodbye

A Poem by Sierra Erway

Kiss my dying lips goodbye,

They won't be here tomorrow...

Please don't cry,

I'll be somewhere better,

Feeling no hurt, no pain, no sorrow...

Kiss my dying lips goodbye,

As they grow colder, still...

The night is young,

The moonlight bright,

Sitting on my windowsill...

Kiss my dying lips goodbye,

Bestill my slow beating heart...

I'll say goodnight,

And tell you I love you,

As my broken sould departs...

Kiss my dying lips goodbye,

It'll be the last chance you get...

And even as I leave this world,

It's still not over yet...

I find that the character you create in this poem is either dying in a hospital bed, or at risk of suicide because of senseless actions of the significant other. Either way, this is quite the morose poem.
