Come Whatever May (The Edge pt. 2)A Poem by Sierra Nerys
A stinging blow, five simple words:
"I asked her out today." The best thing that I could of heard, The last I wanted you to say. They read us like an open book, But they skipped the final page. It seems they missed the biggest part, That final, wrenching change. I didn't think you were that person, That you'd ever pull that stunt. It's the clue that even I had missed ...but was I ever on the hunt? It pains me to have trusted you, To have believed your every word, But today all that has ended; Those words not spoken, though clearly heard. Now I wonder how things would've been, Had we ever left that ledge. Had we been lemmings on a cliff. Had we skittered off that edge. It seems as if my answer's clear: I can't believe a word you say. The ones you sent to cut me Have already had their way. At least I know one thing for sure: Tomorrow's a brand new day, And I'll never think the same of you, Come whatever may. © 2012 Sierra Nerys |

I love to write, and most of the outlets I've used don't get me very far in sharing my work with other people. Critic.. more..Writing
