Baggage

Baggage

A Story by Landen Fergus

An elderly couple just off a long flight are picking up their bags. The elderly man removes a black duffle bag and black rolling suitcase from the belt. The elderly women removes two pink rolling suitcases, two smaller pink suitcases, and a pink duffle bag. They head for the exit, man with his black duffle bag on his shoulder, his rolling suitcase rolling behind him in one hand, one of her pink rolling suitcase in the other, each with a pink suit case on top. The women, duffle bag around her shoulder, pink suitcase rolling behind her, says she needs to use the restroom. Standing out side the terminal restrooms a younger man approaches the elderly, he asks "Doesn't it bother you carrying all those bags for her?" The elderly man replies "We all have baggage, one day you'll find someone whose is worth carrying with them."
