Campfires

Campfires

A Poem by Sidewalk

You know I like

to reminisce

I’m eighteen years

and getting pissed

I light a cigarette

and miss

the flame’s to close

to eyelashes

I know comfort

in a memory

and future’s

in the dark

Present’s

only consistency

is someone’s

broken heart

There’s a lot

we best forget

late night calls

and loneliness

and I know

you questioned this,

you’re beautiful

I must insist

mostly melancholy

I remained

and you glowed

like campfires

in the rain

The poem is very good. You can tell a good story. I like the description and the poem. So many statements stood out in the poem. you're beautiful. I must insist. A excellent poem.
