LIARA Poem by Siddhidatri Pande
Little kid do you know "honesty is the best policy"?
That's what adults say even if it is pushy. turn your right cheek to someone who slapped your left, Would you do the same to the one who ran to the one who ran out with theft. Where lies your honesty when the tables turn, Can you bear it alone with truth when adversaries spurn. Will you give me just one more reason for a plead, To someone who was too mistaken for my deed. My truth is buried in me alone, No one there to see what stars I am being shown. The lie tempts me like it tempts you, But I want to keep my story its way, undeterred and boring. I need not make it interesting for others to make it their bait, If someone likes me for what I am ,I can hold on to the truth and my fate. Whenever I am tight and can not fall asleep, Paralyzed by the insensitive world and lies that roll deep. I too am a liar even though I am aloof, Lying to myself that I am okay with no sound proof.
