Save Your Last Breath

Save Your Last Breath

A Poem by Siddhant_s
"

It is a poem trying to show the people how the human was responsible for the destruction of nature. It emphasizes that nature is our mother and a blow at her would be a blow at us for we'r born of her

"
The trees, birds, animals, plants-
All thrive under the bright Sun-
Here in nature, a cradle of love, hope and fun,
The squirrel dance, cuckoo sing and rabbit hop-
with sheer gaiety
O' What a blessing we have been bestowed upon-
by the almighty
Suddenly, the skies turn dark,
The air grey & the water brown,
Clouds are replaced by puffs of smoke,
the heavenly soil turns ivy-green,
Rabbits and squirrels' smiles turn frown,
In their own habitat do fishes drown.

O' Who has cursed this spectacular scene!
The air used to shimmer, water glimmer and grass jive,
It is as though someone sucked out their life

Now, the smell is of rotten eggs-
As there seems to be Earth's burial grounds nearby,
rich people produce riches whereby,
while in dirt the poor feeds, cries and begs.
O' it is he who cursed this spectacular scene!
The human is the invader-
Whose intellect has turned against him,
As he fails to ponder-
That a jab at mother nature is a jab back at him,
For he is born of her lap.

Hi, Please check of the punctuation marks and if they are appropriate. If anyone could, please tell me the rules of placing ',' ;' ':' '-' and ' ' at the end of the sentences of a stanza.

Thanks for sharing this. Seems to be a thought on how nature should be and what we often find it to be (differently).
"The squirrel dance, cuckoo sing and rabbi hop-
with sheer gaiety"; interesting addition to religion in this nature. Or did you mean to make it "Rabbit" and not "Rabbi"? This may be something to fix.
A comma (,) is typical of a pause within a sentence, a Semi-colon (;) is typical of a new thought but related to the sentence. A (.) period is to end a sentence. Colons (:) are to indicate the conclusion of the initial part of the sentence. A dash (-) usually is an effect to highlight what one initially placed before the dash. Hope this helps you! Best of luck. Keep writing Siddhant. I'm sure it will come naturally to you in the future.

A love for haiku poetry developed during world literature studies, inspired by its power to express deep ideas in just a few syllables. The book Blue Harlequin features many of these moments, celebrating the simple beauty of life. Good morning,
I think it is wonderful that Brad and Ranger took the time to help you with your request for help with punctuation, etc. I looked over your words and I completely agree with them.
What I do not understand is that I do not see a response from you??
Responding seems so important...right? Especially since you did ask for help.
Plus I do not see a revised work from you.. if there was one I would reread it.
Lisa, waiting to hear
