Condemning Glamour

Condemning Glamour

A Poem by Siddhant_s
"

Today, everyone wishes to have loads of followers on social media. So some choose extreme paths. They might indicate aims to be extremely thin while others may flaunt their excessive wealth.

"

What is it that you torture yourself for?
What is it that you yearn for?

Is it just to show others that you have a perfect life?
Or is it just to show others that you strive-
for an expectation that could never be achieved;
which you very well cognize…

And if that is so,
Ask yourself,
“Is it really what I want?”
“Is it actually worth it?”
“Or is it just superficiality’s veil?”

Why do you aim for this material glamour?
Although you know of the deceptive trait of all the material….
Don’t you think glamour is a mere trap-
Which confuses you regarding the worthy and worthless…
Which even though shows the world about your perfectness…
Eats you up step by step deep inside…

As you fear of the reality, whence it is denied…
