Here By the Sea

Here By the Sea

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

I can not say why
the midnight sky
brings tears to my eyes?

Perhaps it is the longing
for you to see
me
here upon the beach
alone in despair
because you are not here
to delight in the miracle
that divines from above
like the flight of the morning dove
that soars so sweetly
cooing its charm

As I can not seem to sleep
this day
while you are away
removed from the blessing
that is falling down
all around
me
here by the sea.

Totally a lovable piece of peace. It's well drafted into the words and well defined the love near by the sea. I enjoyed reading this. Your everything's beautifully penned but the thing i just loved here or the thing that just touched me is your first stanza.. the power of your write's in your first stanza admittedly... everything's just based on that. I loved it and i felt this piece of love... which's i think made in the remembrance of someone. That's all i got... brilliant job as usual. Well done!

Reflection on the things we enjoy control or not always goes down easier by the sea

A beautiful poem. I spend many nights watching the ocean and counting the stars. A excellent poem. Could feel the yearning and desire of a needed someone. Your poem is a pleasure to read.

A pretty piece of writing with some charming thoughts - the soft dove descending... Maybe a bit Hallmark, if you see what I mean *smiles*

I loved this. I'm a son of the salt sea tide though sometimes I feel like a rudderless child.

It's a beautiful poem that expresses our desires to share moving experiences with others. Sea and sky are powerfuly inspiring works of creation. I'm happy to find others moved to tears in awe of Gods beauty. I love the simplicity of the poem , the title and its reappearence in the last stanza.

I can identify so easily with this Beth, it is truly lovely with a permeating sadness that your images create. It is very difficult to be forever wishing on a star. Your phrasing is fabulous as always.
Cheers to you for a beautiful and thoughtful read for your reader...me xxx

This poem reflected beautifully how one can feel at pleasure relaxing in a familiar surroundings like the beach, the tide acts so calmly and makes ones senses feel relaxed and at ease, through life we spend too much time buzzing like a bee going from A TO B never really understanding what life is all about.
it is not just to exist but to cherish those profound moments and in a way feel the sadness and a deep loss that it cannot be spent with the one you love.

Seaside is relaxation personified and i habe written a poem about it published on booksie as one of 4.
thanks for sharing this profound piece of writing which has nutured my mind on a very muggy afternoon in london and no i don't care much for tennis looking forward to this hideous tournament to end.

This reminds me of so many moonlit nights I've walked the beach alone having these same thoughts. Thanks for taking me back to that place. You truly can feel God's power in those crashing waves and inky water, especially when you've got a nice big full moon above it cutting a jagged line across the ocean to infinity. The use of the Dove metaphor I'm curious about, as the species name is spelled, 'mourning', in reference to it's call, yet you have it spelled 'Morning' - could that be an intentional spelling to allude to a different dimension of the poem? Anyways, beautiful little piece of sorrowful introspection. Greatly enjoyed this.
