Everything You Are

I met you

upon no pretense

except perhaps to

make a new friend

and then

upon first sight

I felt a kindling

a kindness,

a kindredness

that has grown

into something

beyond any notion

I may have possibly

imagined-

 

There is a connection

beyond words,

beyond understanding

fully.

 

Yet it leaves me

whole now

beyond comprehension-

enveloped in emotion,

love and longing

to be by your

side as often

as possible.

 

How could something

begin so innocently

and grow to such

depth like that

cavern of an

empty heart

I once had

now filled, fulfilled

with you and

everything you are.
