Anything

Anything

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Often

I wonder when

He will come

my way

the One

that I have

searched for

years

apart

with much dismay

I wander

haplessly,

hopelessly,

needing

his touch

from his soul,

his mind,

his heart,

his hands

on mine

as we sip

coffee

talking of anything.

When will my Man

take my hand?

In the light of recent chatting, one wonders when this was written.

Desire for the Other is strange. I can easily be in the mood mode of this poem, even though I know it's a toss-up: some significant measure of fulfillment vs. "be careful what you wish for."

This aspect of our experience, so frequently impervious to spiritual irony, probably comes down to pure animal need -- albeit an animal need increasingly requiring "sheaths" of intellectual-spiritual compatibilities, unless one is an inveterate compartmentalizer.

Your "Anything" title reminds me of one of my song recordings, "'Any' Song"; suppose I'll have to post it.

This poem is durable lean plainspeak re the female side of this paradox we call physical desire informed by soul. I could see it carved in wood. Good work! ;-)

Again the poem was brief but yet so gorgeously written. In some part of me I wanted the poem to continue on for a bit longer

That eternal search can be so frustrating... to find one that you can not only share the physical but also your mind... for that is the best kind of love has it makes everything else so much better... beautifully done!!

Hi Sid,

I like it a lot. I really like how you pull the style in to short lines. You are a master at that. You ask the eternal question all us single people are searching to answer.
