Deja-Vu

Deja-Vu

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

In the beginning

was the end as in

the end was the

beginning-

the cycle continues on

as we recall, relive

the days of yore

once more-

washed upon

our shores from ancient

continents-

to be reborn, set free

created yet already

complete within the

constructs of contemporary

history.

Repetition, once again

begins anew with few

changes from that which

has passed before us

eons before while

most do not realize

they are reliving

moments gone by,

often a sense

of ennui

ensues in this mad-

minded composition of

deja-vu.

After reading the short series of *Our Story* it puts the human experience into context. This poem brings it all into a full circle. Having such passion bring one into existence is sure to leave images burnt into the mind and spirit. The energy in your work never seems to die. You are a master of manipulating time. What is generally believed to be a constant...is reduced to variable in your hands.

I like it!!! You bring up some deep, insightful views in this piece, and it really makes the reader think.

Deja-vu is a strange, disconcerting effect that we all feel, but it's hard to say exactly where it comes from.
I like your idea about history repeating itself through us. I've always thought that maybe we're experiencing something that also occured in our early childhoods or past lives. You remember the feeling, but not the actual specifics of the happening. Your mind finds the similarities and grasps them because they're familiar.

This is just my idea, of course.

I love this piece! You can really feel the thought you put into it! Great write! :D

I liked this one a lot as it really speaks to the feelings one can have on so many levels...starting fresh! or sick of the conveyor belt same old same old! but there is a broad stroke of hope here...so that is always a good thing!

I liked that. Its really cool. I'm not so good at constructive criticism but I know what I like and often times I'm pickey when it comes to poems so, that says something. Good Job!
