Boudoir On Display

Boudoir On Display

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Civil war bullets

scraps, bits

mangled from

entering bodies

manifested

into spheres,

sculpted

from their

corpses

unto my hands

placed on glass

table for

perusal

in Art shows

around town.

Perfume of

many smells,

lotions, essential

oils

candles

incense

used to scent

sculptures-

quilts,

cigarette butts

fill the ashtray

as great-grandfather's

violin

rests gently

in the corner.

Wax molds

of candy, cough

drops

hotglued to

wine bottles,

myriad shapes

adorn chests

of drawers

also visiting

galleries

from time

to time.

Paintings,

abstract,

vibrant

with clover,

iris, rose

petals

imbedded

in thick

paint

adorn

the walls

of my boudoir

and studios

as I place

my room

on display

for all to see,

me.

Really interesting format and flows nicely from beginning to end and the transtition from darkness
"Civil war bullets
scraps, bits
mangled from
entering bodies" to

"iris, rose
petals
imbedded
in thick
paint" is really nice and works well . it also sounds like my writing room ! but I suspect mine has more mess and less beauty !

A very fine description of your display...private, thoughtfilled, moving through time. A very enjoyable poem.

I suspect there is much more to describe...

Nice work...!

;~) ah... the details, large and small that we collect, save, stash away, put on display.... all the items of our life that we just refuse to let go of... thinking if we let them go... we might start to go with their disappearance; piece by piece??? Perhaps that why I KEEP most everything???? reminding me of who I was, am and will become... the same soul I've always been.

Fine write!!
Thanks for sharing... it did me good!!

This is such an intersting piece on so many levels...the surreal nature of the history behind each of these seemingly disparate pieces being brought together into one piece and the many many many unbtold stories of each resonate through your words to make the reader think nad peersue their own interpretations and thoughts of each....NICE!!!!

Great job! I just love those rooms full of artistic, intriquing items! Kind of makes me think of... (this is weird, I know) Dumbledore's office in Harry Potter. :) All the silver instruments clicking and poofing mist. :) I love that kind of stuff! :D

A fun, interesting poem.

Good use of words, I like how you paint a modern scene with shades of the past, blending the two so effortlessly. Bravo.
