Grandpa Hedrick

Grandpa Hedrick

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

My lover's nest

has come to rest

upon these river's shores.

Within its walls

there is a ghost

of no man alive today.

But in the past

took off his head

with rifles speed.

I feel him here

earthly bound

looking to be freed.

If I could cast

a magic spell

to free his soul to heaven-

Here are the words

that I would say:

'Go dear sir,

be happy there

lady bug luck to you

in your passing.'

Very beautiful and so hauntingl intriguinng
with that lingering mysteriousness as the spirit
lingers, perhaps in your heart imbuing that
longing for one as you to free his spirit.
Very nicely presented!

Very simple and beautiful. A strong write! There's something very classical about it. It's full of mystery and words that have or have not been said.
Very nice.
