Where Your Gaze Met Mine

Where Your Gaze Met Mine

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

I had a dream

I was surging about

the sea

you and me

riding the waves

of oblivian

as the currents washed

us in upon the shore

the waves surrounded us

in warmth

under the sun's

bright rays

then in your gaze

I saw the water reflected

back in rainbows

of longing

as we embraced

upon the floor

of the seaside

riding the waves

of ecstasy

as the wetness

surrounded our very beings

your gaze met mine

once more

and I swore I saw

your soul

within that tender stare

so much was there-

the flesh meant nothing

next to that which

I saw dance in your eyes

the seaside subsiding

leaving us to dry ourselves

upon the sand

the dream of us

surging about the sea

had changed to land

beneath our bodies

and yet again

you looked at me

with desire

passion unmet

nothing I had seen

as of yet

as your soul

spun out in coniptions

of turquoise, lapis lazuli

malachite and jade

illusions unto my gaze

as the sun shone

down upon us

I lost my breath

a perfect moment

captured in time

where your gaze met mine.

You're one of the few poets I've read who would make a guy feel good to be written about, rather than worried.

This is a very nice, sensual piece. I loved the descriptions you gave-- You took something seemingly small, that means so much to those romantics at heart, and really played it to your advantage. Nice write!

Where can I meet a guy like this!!! lol I love when you get on the ground, be it the kitchen floor, the fireplace hearth, the sea bottom or the shore...always intimate and delightful, who doesn't love to track the scent of a she cat soft and furry with claws, sensual excellence!

Dear Sid, I could see that happening to any guy who caught your eyes, in his.
This was so beautiful.
You're just hopeful aren't you?
So am I.
A hopeful romantic

Rich
