Conscious Meanderings

Conscious Meanderings

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce
"

'from a dream...'

"

Wandering through the plains

of darkness

oh 'Hark'

I think I see a light

'It is your voice'

she said,

and led me in my dreams

to a landscape

of which I'd never seen

suddenly I had eight arms

all enraptured with

myself

suddenly the Universe

turned into cubic

cylindrical measurements

all counted out by

these extending appendages

it was quite a marvel

and this is what I did

claimed how much I love you

touched myself times two

for every movement of an arm

found myself enraptured

by your charm

a meaningful night of sleep

can bring on the strongest dreams

yet I would that it were true

within my conscious meanderings.

Was that you in my dream last night Sid? I dreamt that I was Paul McCartney singing to you, "I want to hold your hand, hand, hand, hand, hand, hand, hand... I want to hold your hannnnddd" (I know, don't quit my day job lol). This was wonderful Sid, I thought I was the only one with strange kind of dreams like these. If you ever see me in one of your dreams wandering around, give me a holler, we could have lunch, or some coffee. Oh dang, how much do eight cappucinos cost?

This one is going in my favorites for sure!
Whew!

of course, the title caught my attention and I am so very glad it did...

THIS IS VERY WELL WRITTEN...the expression of your dream has a spiritual or mystical connotation...your winding subconscious visions are very vivid...I admire how you give your dreams life.

this poem flows so nicely...very rhythmical and pleasing

Smiling upon this. Great poem written from the poetess of her dreams.

This is of course right up my alley Siddartha, a striking account of a nocturnal, unconscious vision. There's also a longing, a yen for the dream becoming reality.

I found the imagery and meaning of these lines particularly intriguing:"suddenly the Universe turned into cubic cylindrical measurements all counted out by these extending appendages."

Rich's review has my face hurting with smiles...so does this piece. And it was me John not Paul, you remember Dahlin' we made the Octopus in my Yellow Submarine! Of course it was dreamy! LOL This was a great smile and an interesting loose structure for you to wander over...You should try more flow of unconscious, it works well for you!

you have a wonderful way with words and you really know how to use them to best advantage. I loved this. It's still wrapping itself around my mind.

tasteful read, I love how you used, "suddenly I had eight arms all enraptured with myself," and later you say
you touched your self two times everytime you thought of him. And than closing your piece with your title, was a nice youch to it.

Good write

:D Excellent rendition of your dream. When I was little, I had a dream that I walked into a swirling, rainbow bank with my mom and a woman tried to kidnap me. I ran away and walked towards a giant clock on the wall, which turned into a rainbow portal for me to jump through. I immediately woke up to find the morning, although I could have sworn I was only sleeping for less than five minutes.

I think we all have strange dreams like these, collaborations of random thoughts and reflections on your day or life. Good job writing this one, Sid. :D
