This poem evokes feeling of both sorrow and joy at the same time. It is always comforting when two lovign souls are reunited and you captured it beautifully with your words.
For starters; I would like to offer my condolences and sincerest sadness on the loss of your friend. I know the pain, and I know how terrible it is.
Second; I want to congratulate you on being able to write this. It's never easy to write something about a very recent death and share it with someone. After my best friend died, no one saw my poems about him for two years.
Third; The way you used the single red rose was simply beautiful.
This is a beautiful piece Siddartha. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. I send you condolences along with hugs and promises that in time, things will be a lot easier and less painful. I know what it is like to feel that sorrow. What a wonderful way to give thanks for one's friend.
I love the simple sorrow and the bleakness of this like the passing of life through the Bardo on it's journey in unknown realms of the heavens. Singularly beautiful.

Siddartha, I'm so sorry to hear your news. A friend of my family died yesterday, so I know how you must be feeling right now. I hope you feel better soon. I really liked this poem, and the last stanza especially was excellent. Feel better! : )
I'm with all that have commented thus far, I'm with you with love and (((Hugs))). Your poem stands out like that one beautiful rose with a fragrance of its own.
My Dearest Sid, I'm so sorry to hear of this unfortunate news.
I like to think that she was waiting with a single red rose for him when they finally reunited for the last time.
My deepest condolences to you and your's.
I'm sure that he was a wonderful person, and that he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
