Bed Heads

Bed Heads

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Morning lips

upon my own

with the words

'How did you sleep my love?'

The reply,

'I have no idea

like shattered lightbulbs

not a memory of one

thing or another,

You?'

'Oh,' I say, 'write that down.'

Yawns are yummy in the AM.

Then he arose

to cream the latte.

What luck

a moment to stretch

lounge

and ponder

how did I possibly earn

the splendor of

True Love.

A partner in slumber

with energy enough

to care.

A night with or without dreams

makes no difference

when I am in the arms

of this Man

kind enough to wonder

what mental calistentics

occured in my own

break time

apart from him

each night.

I will ravage him

coddle him

thank God for him

caress him

wake with him

once more.

What a warm and happy celebration of a man who shows consideration and delights to serve the one he loves...'with energy to care'... Actually, I rather like the strength of 'ravage' over the sensuality of 'ravish'... and imagine that being coddled and ravaged by you must be quite an experience... :-)

Sid,

Poetry on the sensual and erotic side is very hard to get right. It is so very easy to slip into crudeness. You navigate the waters well and give us just the right amount of intrigue. Very well done!

Beautiful and thoughtful love-desire. Quibbles out of the way first: "calisthenics" (sp) and "ravish" (right word).

"The reply, 'I have no idea/like shattered lightbulbs/not a memory of one/thing or another,/You?'/'Oh,' I say, 'write that down.'" To me, these lines say it all, re boon companionship. Such mental pleasure meets erotic pleasure in the golden sanctum of the heart.

This poem is a heart-warming portrait of total glowing amorous bliss.

Poignant and delightful!

I liked this conversation style in this poem and its lightness of being...made me leap around the space. "The reply,

'I have no idea

like shattered lightbulbs

not a memory of one

thing or another,

You?'

'Oh,' I say, 'write that down.'" --------this was vey sweet. such a great advice to make someone speak.

"what mental calistentics

occured in my own

break time

apart from him

each night." - ------- this was also another favorite part. great, I see it, I understand it. hope all is well.

"like shattered lightbulbs" - what a turn of phrase that is.

and what a sweet and sensuous description of a loving relationship, you are one lucky couple if this is written about real life.

MMM I'm still stuck on creaming the Latte LMAO...I found this sensual and compelling in a sock it to em fashion, the kind that gives a man natural Viagra...and romance from a woman who loves him kerpow!

Oh! This is so sweet and reminiscent of how I feel for my own honey-you sometimes wonder how you got to be so lucky and if you deserve so much happiness. Great job portraying this!
