Consumed

Consumed

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

I sip lightly

upon your breath

as your near my lips

which quiver

in anticipation

yet I do not want

to partake in the

wine of your soul

as it is likely

to consume me

whole.

I love this, concise and full of complexities
Wanting, but not wanting, knowing that 'it is likely to consume me whole'
And love the first lines
'I sip lightly
upon your breath'
Beautifull

This piece reveals a real vulnerability in matters of the heart...a refreshing kind of innocence. I love it. Rain..

You've reached well here for a metaphor I've been grasping at. That succulent anticipation of the electric passionate first kiss or perfect kiss. Luscious!
