Diamonds

Diamonds

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

In honor

of you

I pen these words

on the bedsheets

and walls-

mementos of thoughts

passing sporadically,

miraculously,

maniacally

through my mind-

what is the cure for

such undertakings

but to continue on

attempting to make

sense of such things

as 'Diamonds dance

upon your eyelashes

in red glittered

dresses upon my

windowpane.'

I immediately thought of 'Blood Diamonds' because of your alluding to 'In honor of you' and 'what cure for such undertakings' when finally I read your reference to 'red glittered dresses'. If this was your aim, you drove it home - flawlessly.

Wow the last metaphor with red dresses is very mysterious in its beauty. It casts me far out like your poems often do. It's a wonderful thing...I like the bedsheets and walls too...vixen! You ever get out? lol
